Ortrugo is the pearl of Piacenza and is obtained from grapes of the vine (grown exclusively on the Colli Piacentini). The grapes are harvested in early September and pressed in our winery.

Soon after, the mash is transferred to a modern press in order to remove the skins and seeds and continue with the so -called “white winemaking.” This is done because the Ortrugo is a delicate wine, and then, letting the juice ferment by itself, it promotes the formation of a fine bouquet, with hints of flowers and the typical bitter aftertaste.

The wine is left to rest in the cellar until winter, when it is transferred into an autoclave for a refermentation. After that, we proceed with filtration and bottling.
